Welcome to Pop Culture Crochet!

Hello! My name is Gillian, and I am an avid crocheter and bookworm. A few years ago, I picked up my first crochet hook and some yarn, and I taught myself how to crochet by watching YouTube tutorials.

I was super inspired early on by amigurumi-style crochet projects. I absolutely loved the endless possibilities that came with 3D crochet.

Eventually, I realized that there weren’t crochet patterns for everything that I wanted to make. I would see something in a movie, or read about it in a book, and go “I want to make that!” but the pattern just didn’t exist yet.

That leads me to this blog. A site where crocheters and nerds alike can visit and find free patterns and related posts about their favourite books, movies, TV and more! In other words, I’ll be posting my pop-culture inspired pattern designs.

Hedwig says hi!

Anyway, I’ll be posting a new free crochet pattern every Wednesday and Saturday, starting tomorrow (Wednesday, July 15, 2020). My goal is to expand my audience, and share my patterns with lots of different people.

Although amigurimi-style crochet may seem daunting, fear not. My patterns are perfect for everyone, regardless of crochet skill level, because they only use basic crochet stitches and they are short and sweet.

Feel free to send me an email if you have a question, comment or recommendation.

Thanks for reading!
