Percy Jackson Crochet Pattern

Hi everyone! Today I’m bringing you a very unique pattern. It’s an amigurumi of Percy Jackson (from several of Rick Riordan’s most popular book series, namely Percy Jackson and The Olympians and Heroes of Olympus). I love all of Rick Riordan’s books, which inspired me to create this amazing pattern. It’s complete with all the details (if you’re a fan of the books, you’ll get it!), so enjoy!

Percy Jackson Crochet Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Natural worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Black worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Orange worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Blue worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Yellow worsted (4) weight yarn
  • 4.00 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • 2 safety eyes
  • A few small beads
  • Stuffing

Terms Needed: Sc = single crochet, Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together, ss = slip stitch, ch = chain, st = stitch, mc = magic circle

Percy Jackson Head:

Start with natural yarn.

Row 1: Sc 6 in mc. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc 2 in each st around. Ss. (12 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1. (Sc 2 in st, sc) repeat around. Ss. (18 sts)

Rows 4-5: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (18 sts)

Row 6: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 4) repeat around. Ss. (15 sts)

Row 7: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 3) repeat around. Ss. (12 sts)

Stuff head and add safety eyes.

Row 8: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc) repeat around. Ss. (8 sts)

Row 9: Ch 1. Sc2tog around. Ss. (4 sts)

Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Using black yarn, add eyebrows and a mouth. For the nose, I used natural yarn, wove it through a stitch, tied two knots and then I wove in the ends. For the hair, cut small pieces of black yarn that are 2x your desired length and tie them to the top center of the head (where the mc is). Trim the hair so that it is a bit shorter in the front.

Percy Jackson Shoes:

Start with black yarn.

Row 1: Sc 4 in mc. Ss. (4 sts)

Rows 2-3: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (4 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Percy Jackson Legs + Body:

Start with blue yarn.

Row 1: Ch 5. Ss to first ch. Ch 1, and sc in each ch around. Ss to first st. (5 sts)

Rows 2-6: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (5 sts)

Bind off, and repeat rows 1-6 to create a 2nd piece. Do not bind off.

Row 7: Ch 1. Sc 3. Switching to the 2nd piece, sc 5. Switch back to first piece, sc 2. Ss to first st of row. Ss. (10 sts) Change to orange yarn.

Row 8-11:. Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (10 sts)

Row 12: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 3) repeat around. Ss. (8 sts)

Stuff work. I didn’t stuff the legs, but you can if you wish.

Row 13: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 2) repeat around. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 14: Ch 1. Sc2tog around. Ss. (3 sts)

Bind off. Using black yarn, add a “CHB” to the shirt. If you’re feeling fancy, you could do the whole Camp Half-Blood logo instead.

Percy Jackson Arms (make 2):

Start with natural yarn.

Row 1: Sc 4 in mc. Ss. (4 sts)

Rows 2-4: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (4 sts)

Change to orange yarn.

Rows 5-6: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Percy Jackson Sword (Riptide):

Start with yellow yarn.

Row 1: Sc in mc. (1 st)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc 2 in the st. Ss to first st. (2 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1. Sc 2 in st, sc. Ss. (3 sts)

Rows 4-8: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (3 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing. For the handles, attach yarn close to the bottom of the sword. Ch 3, and sc in the 2 chs (skipping the one on the hook). Ss to the st on the base. Repeat this on the other side. Weave in ends.

For Assembly: Sew shoes to bottom of legs. Sew arms to sides of body. Sew head to top of body. If you wish, sew the sword to the hand. For the necklace, weave a few beads onto a piece of yarn or string and tie at the back. Weave in all ends.

I hope you enjoyed this pattern! If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments. Happy crocheting!
