Nintendo Switch Crochet Pattern

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a really adorable video-game themed crochet pattern. It’s a Nintendo Switch, inspired by the popular video game console. Enjoy the pattern!

The Pattern:

Materials Needed:

  • Grey worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Black worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Red worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Light Blue worsted (4) weight yarn
  • 3.50 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Black felt
  • Embroidery Needle
  • Black embroidery floss
  • White Embroidery Floss

Crochet terms needed:

Sc = single crochet

Sc2tog = single crochet two together

Ss = slip stitch

Ch = chain

 st = stitch

() = repeat

Notes:

Stitch count is also included in brackets at the end of each row

Front Piece:

For the screen:

Row 1: Start with grey yarn. Ch 13, turn. Beginning in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. (12 sts)

Rows 2-8: Ch 1,turn. Sc in each st across. (12 sts)

Row 9: Change to black. Ch 1.  Sc around all of the edges of the piece, sc 3 times in each corner st as you go. Ss to first st of row. (about 48 sts)

Row 10: Ch 1. Sc around, sc 3 times in each corner st as you go. Ss to first st of row. (about 56 sts) Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Bind off.

For the Joycons:

Row 1: Start with red yarn. Attach yarn to corner of screen. Ch 1. Sc 10  in BLO along the short side. (10 sts)

Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (10 sts)

Row 5: bind off and reattach yarn to top corner of Joycon (adjacent to the screen). Sc around the whole edge of the Joycon. Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Repeat on the other side with blue yarn

Repeat this entire front piece (screen and joycons) once more. Cut 8 small circles and 2 large circles out of black felt. Using white embroidery floss, back stitch the letters A, B, X and Y on 4 of the small circles. Using black embroidery floss, sew the circles to one of the crochet pieces.

Whip stitch the back loops of the two crochet pieces together, using the corresponding colours (blue, red and black). Weave in all ends.
