Jack Skellington Crochet Pattern

Happy Thursday! With the start of fall, I am very excited to be sharing this Jack Skellington (from The Nightmare Before Christmas) Crochet Pattern with you. This pattern is spooky enough for Halloween, and cute as well!

Jack Skellington Crochet Pattern

Jack Skellington Crochet Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Black worsted (4) weight yarn
  • White worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Black felt
  • Black thread
  • Sewing needle
  • 4.00 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Stuffing

Terms Needed: Terms Needed: Sc = single crochet, Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together, ss = slip stitch, ch = chain, st = stitch, mc = magic circle

Jack Skellington Head:

Start with white yarn.

Row 1: Sc 6 in mc. Ss to first st. (6 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc 2 in each st around. Ss to first st. (12 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1, ( 2 sc in  next st, sc), repeat around. Ss to first st. (18 sts)

Rows 4-6: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Sc to first st. (18 sts)

Row 7: Ch 1. ( Sc2tog, sc), repeat around. Ss to first st. (12 sts).

Stuff work.

Row 8: Ch 1. Sc2tog around. Ss to first st. (6 sts)

Row 9: Ch 1. Sc around in front loops only. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 10: Ch 1. Sc in both loops of each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Jack Skellington Body:

Start with black yarn.

Row 1: Ch 7. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. When you reach the end of the row, turn and continue to sc in the other sides of the stitches (the free loops). Ss to first st. (12 sts)

Rows 2-3: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss to first st. (12 sts)

Row 4: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 4) repeat around. Ss to first st. (10 sts)

Row 5: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 3) repeat around. Ss to first st. (8 sts)

Row 6: Ch 1. (Sc 2 in st, sc 2 in st, sc 2) repeat around. Ss to first st. (12 sts)

Row 7: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss to first st. (12 sts)

Stuff work.

Row 8: Ss both sides of the work together. Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Jack Skellington Legs:

Start with black yarn.

Row 1: Sc 4 in mc. Ss to first st. (4 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. (Sc 2 in st, sc) repeat around. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc) repeat around. Ss. (4 sts)

Rows 4-12: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (4 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Jack Skellington Arms:

Start with black yarn.

Row 1: Sc 4 in mc. Ss to first st. (4 sts)

Rows 2-8: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (4 sts)

Row 9: Change to white yarn. Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (4 sts)

Row 10:  (Ch 3. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next ch. Ss to bottom of next st) repeat around a total of 4 times. Bind off.

Jack Skellington Chest Patch:

Start with white yarn.

Row 1: Ch 5. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each each across. (4 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc2tog across. (2 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1. Sc2tog. (1 st)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

For assembly:

Sew arms, legs, and head to body. Sew chest patch to front of body. Using black felt and black thread, add face, chest, and back felt details (use photo for reference). And you’re finished!
