Iron Man Crochet Pattern

Hello everyone! I haven’t shared a pattern in a while, so here’s a new one for you: an Iron Man Crochet Pattern! This pattern is super fun and simple, and the finished amigurumi character is super recognizable. Enjoy!

Iron Man Crochet Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Red worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Yellow worsted (4) weight yarn
  • 4.00 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Stuffing
  • White Felt
  • White Thread
  • Sewing Needle

Terms Needed: Sc = single crochet, Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together, ss = slip stitch, ch = chain, st = stitch, mc = magic circle

Iron Man Head:

Start with red yarn.

Row 1: Sc 6 in mc. Ss to first st. (6 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc 2 in each st around. Ss to first st. (12 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1, ( 2 sc in  next st, sc), repeat around. Ss to first st. (18 sts)

Rows 4-6: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Sc to first st. (18 sts)

Row 7: Ch 1. ( Sc2tog, sc), repeat around. Ss to first st. (12 sts).

Stuff work.

Row 8: Ch 1. Sc2tog around. Ss to first st. (6 sts)

Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew bottom hole closed.

Iron Man Face:

Start with yellow yarn.

Row 1: Ch 7, turn. Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across. (6 sts)

Row 2:Ch 1, turn. Sc 2 in st, sc 4, sc 2 in last st of row. (8 sts)

Rows 3-5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (8 sts)

*Row 6: Ch 1, turn. Sc in next 3 sts. (3 sts)

Row 7: Ch 1, turn. Sc across. (3 sts)* Bind off. Skip 2 sts, and reattatch yarn 2 sts from the patterns (you will be working in the final 3 sts of the row) repeat rows from*.

Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Iron Man Legs + Body:

Start with red yarn.

Row 1: Sc 6 in mc. Ss to first st. (6 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Rows 3-4: Change to yellow. Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 5: Change to red. Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Bind off. Repeat rows 1-4 to create a 2nd piece. Do not bind off of second piece.

Row 6: Ch 1. Sc 3. Switch to the 2nd leg piece, and sc 6 around. Sc 3 on 1st piece. Ss. (12 sts)

Row 7: Ch 1. (Sc 2 in st, sc 2) repeat around. Ss. (16 sts)

Row 8: Ch 1, sc around. Ss. (16 sts)

Row 9: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 6) repeat around. Ss. (14 sts)

Row 10: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (14 sts)

Row 11: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 5) repeat around. Ss. (12 sts)

Row 12: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (12 sts)

Row 13: Ch 1. (Sc2tog, sc 4) repeat around. Ss. (10 sts)

Row 14: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (10 sts)

Stuff work.

Row 15: Ch 1. Sc2tog in each st around. Ss. (5 sts)

Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Iron Man Arms (make 2):

Start with red yarn.

Row 1: Ch 1. Sc 6 in mc. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 3: Change to yellow yarn. Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 4: Change to red yarn. Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (6 sts)

Row 5: Ch 1. Sc2tog, sc around. Ss. (5 sts)

Row 6: Ch 1. Sc2tog, sc around. Ss. (4 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

For assembly: Cut 2 small narrow rectangles out of the white felt and 1 circle out of the white felt. Sew the rectangles to the face using white thread and sew the circle to the centre of the body. Sew the head to the body, and sew the arms to the body. Weave in all ends.
