Conversation Heart Crochet Pattern

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing another Valentine’s Day pattern with you! It’s an absolutely adorable Conversation Heart crochet pattern. This one is inspired by a classic candy and you can customize it with whatever colour and message you want.

Materials:

  • Purple, pink, or light yellow worsted (4) weight yarn (or you can use whatever colour you want)
  • Red thread/embroidery floss
  • Sewing Needle
  • 3.50 mm crochet hook
  • ¬†Yarn needle
  • ¬†Stuffing

Crochet terms needed:

Sc = single crochet, sc2tog = single crochet two together, ss = slip stitch, ch = chain, st = stitch, mc = magic circle, TC = treble crochet, DC = double crochet

Heart Part 1:

Start with your main colour of yarn (see photo for examples).

Row 1: In mc, ch 3, TC 3, DC 3, ch 1, TC 1, ch 1, DC 3, TC 3, Ch 3, ss to the mc. (13 sts + 8 chs)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc around in front loop of all chs and sts from previous row. (21 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Heart Part 2:

Start with your main colour of yarn (see photo for examples).

Row 1: In mc, ch 3, TC 3, DC 3, ch 1, TC 1, ch 1, DC 3, TC 3, Ch 3, ss to the mc. (13 sts + 8 chs)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Using the red thread/embroidery floss and a sewing needle, create the letters on one of the pieces (either one works). I used a backstitch.

Next, sew the two heart pieces together with a whip stitch (using the yarn needle) and stuff when you almost reach the end. Finish sewing the two together, and weave in the ends.

And you’re finished! These make the perfect little gift for Valentine’s Day. I hope you enjoyed this pattern, and happy crocheting!
