Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Happy Wednesday everyone! My Snoopy and Charlie Brown crochet patterns have been getting lots of love on Ravelry, so I decided to create a little accessory to make them better: A Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Pattern! This tree is so adorable and it will make the perfect Christmas decoration too.

Growing up, my family had a little replica of this exact tree from A Charlie Brown Christmas, and that’s another reason why I was super excited to make this pattern for you! If you’re looking for more festive patterns, try these:

Materials Needed:

  • Dark Brown worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Green worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Red worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Grey worsted (4) weight yarn
  • Light Blue worsted (4) weight yarn
  • 4.00 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Wire (jewelry or floral will work), slightly longer than you want to make the tree and branches

Terms Needed: Sc = single crochet, Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together, ss = slip stitch, ch = chain, st = stitch, mc = magic circle,

Using the wire, cut one long piece of wire (about twice as long as you want to make the tree). Bend bottom half of wire into a cross shape, then flatten so that the cross shape is perpendicular to the rest of the tree. Using dark brown yarn, attach to bottom of tree, and sc around the “tree” part of the wire. Once you are almost to the end of the tree, bend the end of wire tree in over the stitches (so they don’t fall off the wire).

Cut 2 small pieces of the wire and attach to the tree. Attach brown yarn and Sc across each of the branches. Bend the end of the wire to hold the stitches in place. Using green yarn, tie small pieces to the end of each branch and the end of the tree. Weave in ends.

For Ornament:

Start with red yarn.

Row 1: Sc 4 in mc. Ss. (4 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc in each st around. Ss. (4 sts)

Row 3: Ch 1. Sc2tog around. Ss. (2 sts)

Bind off. Weave in ends. Thread a small piece of grey yarn through the top stitches of the ornament and tie to the top of the tree.

For Blanket:

Start with light blue yarn.

Row 1: Ch 7, turn. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. (6 sts)

Rows 2-20: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (6 sts)

Bind off. Weave in ends. Wrap around the tree.

I hope you enjoyed the pattern. Have a great day!

Gillian
